Intro

Tina Tower [00:00:00]:
Hello. Hello, my fellow course creators. Welcome back to another episode of Her Empire Builder Show, the place where we empower female entrepreneurs just like you to scale your online courses and memberships with a little more ease and a little more confidence. I'm Tina Tower, and today's episode is hopefully a bit of a game changer for you. We're diving into how you can use AI to do the work of five team members. Now, I say five team members because it's about with what I'm doing at the moment, utilizing all of the AI tools that are currently available. It used to have taken me five team members to be able to do that. So it saves a massive amount of time, energy, resources, all while being able to boost your business to new heights and increase your customer experience, because you've got more time to deal with customers and to actually communicate and be the human rather than have our heads, like, buried in the computer all the time.

Main Episode

Tina Tower [00:00:59]:
I know you know what I'm talking about there, but it will, it will just improve everything if you can really embrace it. And so, you know, running an online business, I do think can feel like a bit of a juggling act. You know, there's different times where we're creating content, we're managing customer support, we're handling marketing, and trying to stay on top of all the data and the metrics and everything that we need to do. It's a lot, but AI can help you with all of that. I have been pretty into it since I first heard about it. My favorite conference that I ever go to is south by Southwest in Austin in Texas. I've been eight times, and I remember a few years ago, so it was like the first one after Covid that I was allowed to go back, and I went to every talk that they had on AI. It was really like a focal point of the whole conference then, and my mind was blown then just with a lot of what they were saying was all, you know, what was coming rather than what we were actually being able to use right now.

Tina Tower [00:02:05]:
But since then, like, far out. It's just got better and better. And what we can actually use within our business is just incredible. And I know when I first started learning about it, it all sounded cool and exciting, but I didn't really know how I would get it and practically apply it to my business to increase our results. It was like, this is fun, but, like, how is that actually going to save me time? And today I use AI in nearly every aspect of my business and pretty much every hour that I'm working. I am using it. It's incredible to me how much we can do with the limited time and energy that we do have. And so, like I said, I get done now what used to take me five team members, and that means that I have more time to spend actually chatting with and serving my clients and coming up with creative ideas, although, so I am currently enjoying that part because I do think my days are numbered.

Tina Tower [00:03:02]:
So there's a lot of things that AI, you know, it can't out create me. There are different ideas that I will have. And I know you can resonate with this of when we're, you know, maybe we get a bit of b roll or where we see something out in the wild or where we get just an inspiration download idea. It to me is always better than what AI can generate. But I do think our days are numbered with that. Where AI can never take over is our humanity. It's our connection and our way of how we distill information and how we can teach it to others. I mean, I like, I think I've learned so many things from so many different mentors in business and in life, and I could hear the same thing from different people, but it's gonna hit me differently depending on who that person is and how much I resonate with them.

Tina Tower [00:03:54]:
And that's something that I think is still so important when I heard people talk about, you know, will it replace everything that we have? Because it is information heavy. You can pretty much get everything from perplexity and chat GPT now, information wise that you need, but it's the way that we as humans distill that and then present it that I don't think AI could ever, well, not in the next little while, take over from that. And so I do think that that's going to be a really valuable thing for us to be able to hold on to is how can we interpret that information to get humans the quickest result that we possibly can. But where it does take over is in all of the tech, admin, marketing, repeatable tasks and speeding up our output so that we can, like, it's blowing my mind how quickly I can do things now. So I'm going to share with some of that with you today in this episode, but I've also put together a brand new training program that I would love to invite you to. It's very creatively named AI for course creators. I did not get chat GPT's help with naming that. I'm sure it would have come up with something way more creative, but I wanted it to be what it says, AI for course creators.

Tina Tower [00:05:06]:
And I'll be showing you the tools that are making the biggest difference in my business at the moment and sharing with you my own prompt playbook that I use to get the best results for all of the different areas of our course creation business. And you'll be amazed at what you can do in four days with AI. So our online business landscape has got so much more competitive lately, and I do think that if you want to stay ahead of the pack that it's something that you need to learn how to practically apply in your business so that you can increase that output without actually increasing the energy used or the time that it's going to take. So if you would like to come along to that training, you can go to tinaweek.com. that is tinaweek.com, which will take you to the registration page to register for AI for course creators. It's four days. We can spend the week together. We're going to do some super practical things.

Tina Tower [00:06:00]:
So my goal is not to bamboozle you or blow your mind necessarily with all of this stuff that you're like, wow, that's cool, but how am I ever going to use that? My goal is to be able to teach and share with you things that are going to massively increase your results in the quickest amount of time possible. So if you want to jump onto that one, go to tinaweek.com. hello and welcome to her Empire Builder show. I'm your business strategist and host, Tina Tower, and I am so happy you are here. My goal with this show is to bring you the inspirational and informative conversations with interesting humans, as well as the tools, tips and resources to help you build your online business. Since starting my first business at 20, I have built and sold four times. And in 2018, while traveling around the world with my family for a year, I tripped and fell into this wonderful world of online courses, and I instantly fell in love. I'm a million dollar course creator, a world traveler, bestselling author, a mummer of two man children, and a lucky wife.

Tina Tower [00:07:06]:
There's no playing small here. It's your time to grow to run a highly profitable business that makes you wildly wealthy while you positively impact your clients and the world around you and have the life you've always dreamed of. Let's get it. Okay, so today we're going to explore five key areas where AI can step in and kind of take over so that you can focus on what you do best, which is creating amazing courses and connecting with your clients, the human stuff. And so for me, like, the power of AI in business, it used to be just tech giants, I know, even at the beginning of 2023. So the beginning of last year, we started making some custom AI products. I wanted to have everything that we had in her empire builder that was available to our members. So we have a lot of content.

Tina Tower [00:08:06]:
It's a tricky thing because you can overwhelm people with too much content. But one of the things that I really, really wanted to have in my membership was I wanted to have absolutely anything that anyone needed in their online business available. So if someone wanted to know, how do I make a webinar? How do I run it on, you know, deadline funnels? How do I start my podcast? How do I grow my podcast? How do I run a live launch? How do I set up for an evergreen launch? How do I grow my list? Like, all of the different things that we need to do as course creators, I wanted to have modules on that, and so we created that. It's all in our library, but it can be hard to try and find the right things when you need them, because there can be a lot of content there. And sometimes I can call things different things to what other people would call things. And so we started creating this AI product so that basically you could ask it what you needed, and it could fish through and find that information anyway. So we worked on that on and off, like all of 2023. And then as we were just getting completed, so I spent $35,000 on creating it.

Tina Tower [00:09:14]:
And as we were just getting completed, chat GPT put out custom GPTs, which could do that, like, for free. And so it was a bit wasted. And then, you know, it could actually do it better than what initially the custom software that we had built could. So we scrapped that, and I've actually been waiting for the next iteration so that we can roll everything out. But to me, like, it was just, it was just for tech giants, even just a couple of years ago. And then it was for people that could, you know, afford to invest the infrastructure in making these things, and now it's for all of us. And so AI tools, they're transforming the way we do business. And that is especially true for us as digital marketers.

Tina Tower [00:10:01]:
So being online, it, it is more prevalent than so many other industries, you know, from automating repetitive tasks to generating all of our content. AI is like having a team of virtual assistants assistance at your fingertips. And we've been playing with them. I don't know if you've played with them, too. But we've been playing with, at the moment, we're comparing two. One's called Sintra AI, which is like, like your own virtual assistants that you custom code, and AI agents. And we're trying to compare which ones are the best so that we can share them with our clients and save them a bit of time in there as well. And the best part about them is they never sleep, they never get tired, they always deliver.

Tina Tower [00:10:43]:
They're totally robotic and fabulous, and then we can get them and put our humanness on top. And so when it comes to a lot of the AI tools, I I still think it's a long way off being able to replace us with a lot of things. Like, even I see people using them for pure content creation and, like, sending out what AI is actually generating, which to me is a massive, massive no no, because you can tell even if you run it through, you know, you can put it through human eyes, aihdenae, and then you can put it through Quillbot. Like, you can run it through a few different programs to give it more of a human flair, but it's not going to have your story in it. It's not going to have your personality in it. And so to me, it's really great at getting it to, like, you know, that 70, 80%, and then we can put it on top, which saves a bucket ton of time and brain space, which is so great. So for the first one, let's talk about content creation. So whether it's writing blog posts or crafting your social media content, or your strategy or developing your course materials, AI is able to do all of it.

Tina Tower [00:11:57]:
And so chat GPT is my favorite, followed very closely by perplexity. Perplexity was my favorite until chat GPT bought out four. That is, like, to me, the shizzle McDizzle. And it can help you generate, like, super high quality content in a fraction of the time that it would take you to do it manually, even just to get the creative juices going. Like, I've started really using it conversationally in that I've got the app on my phone, and I can go, like, I'm thinking of this, I want to write this, but I feel like it's not quite enough yet, or I want to go in this angle, but I want to have some more strategy to back up this story, or I've got this story or this metaphor that I want to use. How can I use that? Like, I can just have conversations back and forth and then go, no, I don't like that. And the best part, so, I mean, all of us have worked with marketers, right? We've all worked with social media and content creators. And you've got to be, for a lot of creative types, really precious and in a good way.

Tina Tower [00:12:57]:
Like, people love their work, they respect their work, they're proud of their work, they want to do a really good job. But I have found in the past that sometimes because I can be very fast moving, so I can be really black and white with my instruction. And it's something I've worked on quite a lot, but like, personality wise, the preference would be, I love this, this, this, and this. I don't love this, this and this. Can we change that and do that? Okay, go. Which doesn't always work so well with AI. However, I can do that, like straight away, I love all of this, hate all of this, fix it. And they're like, okay, what about this? I like, that's exactly what I meant.

Tina Tower [00:13:37]:
It is very, very conducive to fast and clear communication without having to worry about all the emotion around it in there as well. So instead of spending hours brainstorming and writing, you can use AI to generate your draft in like minutes and then tweak it to match your voice and match your style. Same goes for video scripts when you want to promote, like, even at the moment. So we're talking about AI for course creators. I talked about it in the intro. I'm running a training AI for course creators. If you want to join us, go to tinaweek.com. but when I wanted to make the video scripts for the Facebook ads, I just copied the URL for the sales page, like the opt in page for the training itself, and said, like, this is, this is everything.

Tina Tower [00:14:24]:
All about it. Here's our main website as well. Here's about me. And it can draw in my bio and all of that sort of thing, too. And when I want to create, you know, 62nd video script that I can use as a Facebook ad that's going to be highly optimized for conversion. We need one for cold audiences. We need one for warm audiences, like just tell it everything that we need. And then it gave me those video scripts with my tone of voice in there as well.

Tina Tower [00:14:50]:
So it can do a lot of that heavy lifting. And then I always change different things. But I mean, I used to stew over stuff like that for ages. So it just takes any of the procrastination out and kind of just makes you get on and do it. Okay, next one is using AI for customer support and engagement. So a lot of chat bots, like the one that I use the most is Manychat. Manychat on our front end. Customer support for when people want to book into oh so many things.

Tina Tower [00:15:23]:
I think we have about 30 of them going at the moment. So DMing different words that we can use it. I haven't used it fully for FAQs. We're thinking of getting it ready in time to roll out for this upcoming launch. But there's still a little. So when it comes to automation and when it comes to AI automation, I do think that there is. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. And so there's a lot of it where I like Manychat to not make people wait.

Tina Tower [00:15:52]:
So say you want to book into our AI training. I'm using it as an example because it's like the easy one that I'm talking about, but I feel like I'm talking about it a lot, but also book into AI training. But say you wanted to and you saw me talking about it on Instagram. Then we've got the Manychat word set up for AI boost. So anyone can comment or DM AI boost and it will come back with a whole automated chat flow. So it will come back with like the link to be able to book, which I want people to be able to do without having to wait for a real person. Then it'll ask, like how did you go? Did you get in there? Yes. Great.

Tina Tower [00:16:29]:
And then it will wait and then about an hour later it will come back and say, hey, if you're interested in that, you may also want to jump on our waitlist. Let me tell you a little bit about her empire builder. And then it's got a button there to join the waitlist. But then it will mark our conversation as open. So that way I'm able to go in and as the human that I am and actually have a real life conversation with people. Now you can go so many more layers deep and automate and use AI to create these really complex conversations going forward. But it's something that I think like from where the market sits at the moment and I know me as a consumer as well would really turn me off. And so I think just like with a lot of it, just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Tina Tower [00:17:15]:
You've really got to ask like what is going to enhance the customer experience? And to me, I want to enhance the customer experience. I want to enhance customer results and anything that I can use AI to be able to do that I am all for. But I think there's also a limit where you can actually hinder the customer experience with it. And so the ones that we're looking at mainly for customer support are what we're creating our AI agents for. They are very, very good, and that's what we'll put inside our program. So they're the ones that we're getting ready to roll out to all of our, her empire builder members so that they can have conversations. Because it's things like, you know, the nuances of it depends. So say you're running your course or your membership and someone wants to ask a question, but it could be you've got people all over the world and they're in the opposite time zone and you're asleep, but they're working on it right now and they've got a couple of hours and they need an answer.

Tina Tower [00:18:08]:
This is where I think it comes in really, really handy because a lot of the time, like, say someone will ask, should I run a three day or a four day training? You know, that's a question that we get. Or should I run evergreen or live launch? Or like all of these different questions that are not black and white. So it's not like you can put something, and I'm sure your content is like this too, where someone could ask you a question and it's like, well, it depends. Let me ask you another couple of clarifying questions so I don't give you a bum steer, so I can give you an actual answer that's going to help you before you sprint off in a direction that could be wrong. I want to clarify a few things first. So this is where we can use AI agents to really have all of that knowledge and get that nuance down. It is not super simple to build them at the moment, but it is getting a lot easier and easier as the time goes on. Which is why I've kind of been stalling, is because it's getting so much better every month that there's a few things I'm waiting for because I really want that nuance down patch.

Tina Tower [00:19:16]:
Okay, the next one is for marketing. So, marketing and sales automation. I do think that AI is an absolute secret weapon for lead generation nurturing, for managing email campaigns, for crafting sales funnels, writing persuasive sales copy, like perfectly tailored to your audience. There is like when we have been setting up for this launch and doing all of our training and all our emails to go with it and all of the sales page copy, it has been in the insane with how much time it saved me and how good it actually sounds like way better than what it sounded six months ago. And we're using. So, so the way that we're doing it is we feed in, like, all of our sales page prompts that we have. So, you know, like the different things of this is about this section. We've got the whole flow that we go down in.

Tina Tower [00:20:09]:
We want to talk about this or that. We want to go like, some, some. Are you struggling with this? Well, here is like five points of the solution. Like, we have our formula for our sales page that we put in, and then we use that for the prompts, and we give examples of another sales page that we've used and said, like, our answer to this for this program would be this. We want to write in that same tone and that same vibe, but for this new program, and we've got the facts already fed into its memory for the new program there. And then it will spit out something that is so freaking good. And so there's very little tweaking to do, but it is very well worth it. Then creating email sequences that nurture your leads and drive conversions.

Tina Tower [00:20:51]:
So after people do your opt ins, like, how can you then nurture those leads? AI is better at that than I think three quarters of people would be. So there are definitely copywriters that would have AI beat 100% of the time. But for most of us as course creators, we're not professional copywriters. I will look at so many people stuff and I will go like, I know this person. They are so smart, they're so caring. They're so good at what they do, but they're messaging like, they're not conveying it properly through their messaging. Their sales copy is crap. This is where I think it really comes in handy because so often I have seen people, like I say all the time in online courses, those who market well, win, and I will see people with so much integrity, so much greatness in them and what they deliver, but they're like the best kept secret.

Tina Tower [00:21:48]:
They don't get people through the door to get to the other side and then vice versa. I see people that are absolute marketing champions that don't necessarily have really great content and are delivering a really great transformation promise on the other side. This, I think, levels the playing field, that if you are not a naturally strong copywriter, then this is going to be way better. My advice would be use chat GPT four, feed it in really, really good prompts. If you're coming to my AI training, I'm going to give you some prompts. If you're a member in her Empire builder, you've got the prompt playbook to use for that. So give it the prompts, and then put it into, there's a custom GPT inside chat GPT called Humanize AI. Pop it into there, get it to humanize it a bit, and then put it into Quillbot.

Tina Tower [00:22:37]:
I love Quillbot. You can put it in different tones of voice, and it'll just like, you know, put it a bit more colloquial and a bit more human sounding, and then you can go through and change it yourself as well. So what used to take, you know, a day, two days, three days, I've seen people spend, like, weeks on their sales page is now, like, it shouldn't take you longer than an hour to be able to do that. So it's just incredible with what it, what it saves. So we want to be able to do that then I would say the next one is using it as your project manager. So someone like using AI to be able to keep you on track. So I use Monday.com. Monday is my favorite project management software.

Tina Tower [00:23:24]:
But even ClickUp and Trello and Asana, they all have AI integration now to help you organize tasks, to help you set reminders, manage project timelines. And to me, it's almost like having a personal assistant who's just that one step ahead, who's just there going like, hey, you've got this next. Or for me, I've been using it, and this is what I'm doing on day four of the training, too, in realistic expectations of timelines. So my toxic trait is that I am very productive, but I have very unrealistic expectations of how long something will take me. So I will go, all right, here's my to do list for the day of, which is probably, like, an appropriate to do list for the weekend. However, I'm very ambitious with my time. I'm like, I can do it, surely I can do it. And sometimes I can do it, and I'll like, you know, you know when you get those days and you, like, grid in and fully focused and you're just like a machine, and you're just like, whoa, this girl is on fire.

Tina Tower [00:24:24]:
But then the next day, I'm exhausted. So you can't do that level of smashing it every single day. This is where I use AI now and go like, this is how long an actual task, each task I have to do takes me, and I know that from past because I time track myself in Monday. And so I'll go, here's everything I have to do. Here's the time I have available to do it. Make me my weekly plan that can fit all of that in, and it will say, like, you don't have enough time. Which ones of these are the ones that you can keep out. You've got like 3 hours of too many tasks or whatever it is.

Tina Tower [00:24:59]:
So it's really, really great being able to give us those realistic time expectations and optimize your schedule so that you don't feel like you're battling the whole time in there as well. Okay, next one, data analysis and decision making. I have started putting in like a couple of things. We're using our Google Analytics, we're using our analytics from metrical. So metrical is the program that we use to schedule our social media. So before I used to comb through all of the Google Analytics and metrical and try and figure out a, like, what's working, what's not, like, try and interpret that data so that I can constantly stay ahead of the curve because things are changing so rapidly that something that works one week might not work the next week. And so we really want to get into that now. I don't have to comb through any of that data.

Tina Tower [00:25:49]:
We just upload the whole report into a chat GPT and say, all right, give us your recommendations. Behave like you were my marketing manager. What recommendations do you have, what insights you have, what should we be doing? And it will tell us, like, we look at course sales, we look at website traffic, social media engagement, and it's given me a lot of insights that I probably would have missed or it would have taken me a really long time, like, to deep dive into it. You know, you sometimes have on your to do list, like really deep dive into our analytics and figure out what's going on. But do we ever get there? No, because it's a task that is like, not screaming urgent at us. And often as business owners, we give ourselves like, the time to do the urgent tasks, but things like that will sit on our list, like kind of getting bumped again and again. And so to me, it's really important to be able to do that because then I can make decisions and keep our business, like, humming along ahead of the trend because we're getting that, like, weekly updated data analysis. So personally, I've been incorporating so much AI into my own business.

Tina Tower [00:26:58]:
The results have been phenomenal. It has allowed me to focus a lot more on connecting with clients. I have never had this much time to connect with clients to spend in our Facebook group to give people personal answers. It's my favorite thing because so much of the operational side is taken care of. I have a wonderful team that do their job really, really well and now my job has like gotten so much smaller because the things that I used to do could be dumb. With so much AI, the things I would have had to hire extra team for can now be done with AI. So call to action for today is hopefully one of these areas that you have heard about where AI can make the biggest impact on your business. Grab that and start experimenting with it.

Tina Tower [00:27:49]:
Whether it's setting up a chatbot or automating your email campaigns or using some AI for content creation, like just take that next step and see what difference it can make. Because I really think that people who will you be utilizing AI really well are the ones who are going to still be in business in the next year or two. And if you want to learn how to utilize it in the most like, simple, practical way, head to tinaweek.com and register for my AI free training week. That is tinaweek.com. the possibilities are endless and I promise you the time you'll save is invaluable.
